Chronicles of the Slayer: Dawn of the Slayer, Prologue

Prologue
The Slayer knew he was in trouble. The Vamps were closing in and he knew that the end was near. He had just one jar of Holy Water left, and the sword. He couldn’t use the Sword, so he mentally prepared the incantation to send it to the next Slayer. He had barricades set up on the entryways to the small room he was inhabiting as his defensive position. He could sense them coming and he knew they were waiting, biding their time before they would make there last rush into the room and destroy him. Then he heard it. The unmistakable sound of wood and stone cracking. The vampires were coming and they were breaking and they would be in any second.
Then it happened. The vampires burst through the barriers and rushed the Slayer. He threw his last jug of holy water and said the final incantation. The holy water hit the vampires head on ashing two of them. The issue was that there was many more than that coming through. They rushed him attempting to get the sword, but right when they got to him he said the incantation.
“NOOOOOOOOOOO!” cried Mansa. “Who was responsible for keeping him from speaking?”
“I was.” Said one of the vampires timidly.
Mansa’s hand was viciously fast. The other vampires were barely able to see it. The vampire was quickly grabbed by the throat and crushed.
“Let this be a lesson to the rest of you!” Screamed Mansa. “Failure is not an option. Anyone else that fails will be dealt a swift death.”
The other vampires slinked away afraid to do anything to incur the wrath of their boss. Mansa’s temper was well known, and nobody wanted to be on his bad side whenever he got into one of his moods. There was one vampire that stayed behind. His name was Skaarh. He was Mansa’s second in command and was the only able to calm him down from his moods.
“Did you really have to do that?” asked Skaarh, “He didn’t mean to let the slayer complete the incantation.”
“It doesn’t matter whether he meant to or not. The Master demands perfection and the sword. Without the sword his plan will not work.”
“Well if you keep killing the underlings there won’t be any vampires left and you will have done the Slayer’s job for him. There won’t be any vampires for him to kill.”
“That doesn’t matter, because of his failure we must find the new Slayer and kill him as well.”
“Very well let us go.”
With that the two vampires walked away from the Slayers body.
